“Seriously what screams summer more than a Carnival, the smell of popcorn, laughter and the bright colors and sounds. A carnival is a great theme for any birthday party.
When we were contacted by a mom for her son’s birthday party, we knew this would make the perfect theme to accommodate a large guest list, who doesn’t love a carnival!?
We got to work immediately bringing in fun, funky elements to set this carnival apart. I decided to add some vintage flare to the carnival so I enlisted the help of Envy Anvi and their carnival tent backdrop. It would set the scene for our dessert table.
My dessert table was the centerpiece of the room so it had to speak for itself, and boy did it. With rows of mini cupcakes from Queens Sweets, swirl lollipops, flavored kettle corn and the most adorable cookies, this table rocked. To add a little extra “POP” I spray painted some bowls and made elephant stands. The finishing element for the table was the marquee arrows pointing directly at the cake. This simple carnival cake was perfect with it’s custom mini tissue bunting topper.
Now no carnival party is complete without entertainment and boy oh boy did we have just that. First off a giant carousel bounce house set the tone for the amount of fun these kiddos were going to have. Bounces and giggles filled the air, while competitive spirits were rilled up in games. Guest had a choice of playing bean bag toss, ring toss, balloon pop and more. Guests were able to get some fun face painting or glitter tattoos.
This wasn’t just an ice cream truck but an ice cream truck owned by a magician. The birthday boy had no idea he was about to put on a show. After a variety of tricks, the last magic trick resulted in a cute fluffy white rabbit appearing. The kids were so excited to pet the adorable bunny.
This carnival was definitely a success and colorful for a very lucky little boy!”
